Looking for kitesurfing lessons in Cape Town? Look no further than High Five Kitesurf School. Whether you would like to have your own private kitesurfing lessons or learn with a friend, we accommodate for all.
At our kite surfing school, we adhere to the internationally recognized IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) standards to ensure our lessons are not only effective but also exhilarating and, above all, safe.
Groundwork on the beach:
Your kite surfing journey begins on the beach, where you’ll learn the essentials of kite setup and safety. This stage is crucial as it lays the foundation for everything that follows. You’ll focus on mastering kite control, practicing various flying techniques, and understanding how to handle different wind conditions—all in a controlled, land-based environment.
Transitioning to water:
Once you’re confident with kite control on land, it’s time to take your skills to the water. Here, you’ll build on what you’ve learned, adding new techniques and refining your control as you navigate the waves. This stage is all about developing the finesse needed to manage both kite and body in a dynamic environment.
Mastering the board:
With your kite control well-honed, you’ll progress to working with the board. This phase brings together all the skills you’ve acquired, guiding you through a series of steps to successfully get up on the board. You’ll practice these techniques repeatedly, gaining confidence and skill until you’re gliding across the water with ease.
KITE GEAR
We’ll kit you out good and proper. No need to bring your own kite or board.

Semi-private packages involve your first two lessons in a group, and then private lessons for the remainder of your hours. Sometimes we recommend this as a cost effective and efficient way of learning as the first two lessons involve a lot of information that can be transferred to the group at the same time, limiting the effects of sharing the kite.
